Susan Barton has started holding Facebook Live Video Chats to share important information. Each is 6 to 7 minutes, and the response has been terrific.

Since they were recorded, you can watch them now even if you do not use Facebook.

Chat #1: Meet with your child's teacher before school starts

Chat #2: The 5 most important things a teacher should do

Chat #3: Which intervention programs work?

Susan Barton will not be traveling this year. But she does coordinate a Speakers Bureau.

So if you need a speaker on dyslexia for a meeting or conference, a parent support group, or a teacher in-service training day, click here, fill out the form, and Susan Barton will put you in touch with the closest professional speaker who can meet your needs.

It Has Been Amazing

Once your child with dyslexia gets the right intervention, you will be amazed at how rapidly they improve as this parent shares.

My son is doing the Barton Reading & Spelling System, and it has been AMAZING. He only started last August, and next week, he is moving to level 6.

He is at a private school that specializes in dyslexia remediation the Loomis Gateway Academy, near Sacramento, California. This school is top notch. They even have teachers who are certified at the Master's level in the Barton System.

Over the years, my son has tried many programs like Lindamood-Bell, SRA Corrective Reading, SIPPS, Kumon Learning Center, and at least 3 more that were not researched based for dyslexia.

The Barton System really has been a miracle.

As my son said recently, "It took us a long time to find the right reading program, Mom. But we finally found one that works!"

Moms, you have such an important role.

You can change things for the better in your community -- by educating teachers and other parents about dyslexia.

Wear this t-shirt with pride, which is available as a fund-raiser for Project Debunk in Maine.

Also get active in your state's Decoding Dyslexia group.

Classroom Activities for Barton Students

Barton tutors can give teachers or parents some of the items from our lessons or some of the items on our Tutor Support webpage if a Barton student needs independent seatwork that will reinforce their emerging reading and spelling skills.

If you are a Barton tutor, click here to request a list of those activities.

Nuts & Bolts of Private Practice

Susan Barton converted one of her most in-demand all-day workshops, the Nuts & Bolts of Private Practice, into 3 shorter on-line sessions.

Now Barton tutors, certified or not, can watch any of these sessions as many times as you wish for a small fee, over the internet.

The three sessions are:

  • Setting up a private practice, the nitty gritty 1 hour
  • What to charge and how to market effectively 2 hours
  • Set parent expectations with a tutoring agreement and a road map 2 hours

To learn what is covered in each session, or to register, click here.
