Free Presentations
Susan Barton will not be traveling this year, so she will not be giving any free talks. But she does coordinate a Speakers Bureau.
So if you need a speaker on dyslexia for a meeting or conference, a parent support group, or a teacher in-service training day, click here, fill out the form, and Susan Barton will put you in touch with the closest professional speaker who can meet your needs.
Summer Seminars
Susan Barton has conducted her live, in-person 6-day Screening for Dyslexia seminar twice each summer since 2002. Sadly, she is no longer able to offer it in person.
Susan started converting her Screening for Dyslexia seminar into an on-line course.
But you know the saying: Life is what really happens while you are busy making other plans.
Sadly, due to the needs of several family members with worsening illnesses which require Susan's loving care and attention, the on-line course will not be completed for quite a while.

What Graduates Say
The Screening for Dyslexia course, by Susan Barton, is not just a course on how to detect Dyslexia. It is so much more! You get extensive, in-depth, up-to-date information on the history and brain science, plus hands-on experience on how to apply it and screen for dyslexia. You also get tons of resources and ready-made documents that help you communicate and implement what you've learned with other professionals and parents.
Whether you are a Reading Specialist, Dyslexia Specialist, Educational Therapist, Special or Regular Ed teacher, or Tutor, Screening for Dyslexia will improve the way you look at, evaluate, and communicate with your students and parents.
Before I took the course, I had no idea how comprehensive it was, so I was baffled why it took six days to teach how to screen for dyslexia. It was well worth my time and money.

Hands On Learning Solutions
The Screening for Dyslexia seminar is an excellent course for speech-language therapists, teachers, parents, or anyone who desires in-depth information about dyslexia and ways to identify dyslexia.
Susan Barton is a superb presenter and her passion and dedication is contagious. She presents hours of information in such a concise, complete, engaging and professional manner that I found myself wishing the seminar did not have to end.
Theresa Hellen
Speech-Language Pathologist
I have been an R.N. for 35 years, and I have a Master's degree in clinical psychology. I have attended quite a few seminars but I have never attended such well-organized, information-packed, and practical seminar in my career. I learned more useful information about dyslexia in these 6 days than in my entire Master's program.
Within two weeks of completing this course, I have been able to use my training to help three students who have been struggling for years.
Susan Barton is very gifted educator and speaker, and she is dedicated to changing the lives of students with dyslexia.
Cindi Frediani, R.N.
Masters in Clinical Psychology
In 6 powerful days, Susan Barton will forever change what you know and how you look at 20% of our population – those with dyslexia.
If you attend just one training on dyslexia, make it this one. Susan is the best in the field!
During this 48-hour hour course you will cry, laugh, network, and yes, become outraged and impassioned to bring your newly gained knowledge home to change lives – as I did.

On-Line Seminars
The Nuts & Bolts of Private Practice
Susan Barton recently converted one of her most in-demand all-day workshops, the Nuts & Bolts of Private Practice, into 3 shorter on-line sessions.
Now any Barton tutor, certified or not, can watch these sessions for a small fee, over the internet 24/7.
The three sessions are:
- Setting up a private practice, the nitty gritty – 1 hour
- What to charge and how to market effectively – 2 hours
- Set parent expectations with a tutoring agreement and a road map – 2 hours
To register, or to learn what is covered in each session, click here.
Speaker’s Bureau
Susan Barton, the founder of Bright Solutions for Dyslexia, gives presentations on dyslexia all across the country. But she cannot keep up with the demand.
So she contacted all of the graduates of her summer seminars. Many, who were already giving presentations at a local or state level, agreed to become part of a Speakers Bureau on dyslexia. Speakers are now available in 37 states and five countries.
If your organization, school, or conference would like a speaker on dyslexia, whether it is for a short presentation at a service club meeting or a parent support group, a three-hour in-depth workshop, or an all-day inservice training, click here and fill out the form.
Susan Barton will match your request with the most appropriate speaker in your area.
